but when collecting the tears of bhaal there is a certain room that requires a choice: either the selfless path (lose health, dex, xp) or the selfiih way through. now we all know (those who have gotten this far) what the consequences are if you are selfish. however, the situation is not permanent. a raise dead rectifies the situation. now is that held against you? negative effects i.e. lose rep? party member splits?

You turn evil( if you were not evil to start with). This is bad for Paladins and Rangers.

Indemaijinj 10-24-2002 08:07 AM

If you only take the evil path in one of the challenges, but the good path in the others will you still turn evil?

I was thinking about taking the evil path in the wrath test with my chaotic good barbarian.

Thats not my understanding of the situation. I was fairly sure that was permanent death. Anyone know for sure?

Taking evil on *any* path turns you evil. Sorry!

However, if you are playing ToB with Watcher's Keep, there is a way to restore your stats on the 4th level of the keep, especially the Dex loss. ;) Look for a strange *machine*.

Your party-member can be ressurected without any problems.
If you solo, its another story for the poor peasant...

BTW, perhaps difficult level could affect it? At least the normal level says that characters cannot be permanently killed (which isn't exatly true since they can be gibbed and thus cannot be resurrected). Anybody knows about this?

Pfft! I would never choose the evil path anyway.

+10% Magic Resistance is not to be dismissed easily. A fair trade for -2 Hp( oh gee, what a great loss), -1 DEX( replaceable in ToB), and -2 AC( right... like -15 AC is not good enough already).

Azreal would be disappointed, Dundee. ;)

Being greedy and calculative means I should get the greatest benefits. Smart evil people do not put themselves at a disadvantage whenever possible.
