Well, I'm curious. I've never seen use in it, so I don't bother with it. Is it really a waste of points, or am I missing something really good?

Do you mean Hide in Shadows? I use it lots, when backstabbing. Especially when your higlevel!

I like it. Instead of casting true sight, you can use yuor mage/sorceror for something more useful while your thief reveals invisible enemies.

No, he means Detect Illusions. It lets you see through any illusions in the area.

I like that skill. Jan who I always take in my parties has a quite high skill points rating for that skill in the beginning and I use it quite a lot. You could do alot worse than give your thief points in that skill.

if you have enough points it will act like a true sight spell, the downside being that your thief has to spend the combat detecting or it won't work (alternatively you could just turn it on to dispel the illusions and then fight, but then they can drop more illusions and you have to spend a round waiting for the ability to kick in).
