I quit my job! Going into business for myself
And I am happy! http://www.pakpassion.net/ppforum/im...s/smiles/3.gif
Sorry I haven't been around, been dealing with work shit which I finally brought to a head by resigning. Working 80 hours a week so someone else can get rich finally wore me out. I'm planning to go into business for myself which I have always wanted to do, that's why I did my MBA at Babson for entrepreneurship. Thinking of buying a gas station as a starting point. I know it will be heaps of work, but at least the effort will be for my own direct benefit. I am psyched right now! A bit scared, but psyched too! |

Good luck M. Keep an eye out for replacements for fossil fuel.

Best of luck mate! Gotta admire what you're going to do, I've always wanted to do it too but I feel too tied up at the moment with the mortgage and everything... maybe some day.

Re: I quit my job! Going into business for myself
Not bad, got married and all... kinda fed up with my job atm, this week or the next one I will know how if I promote this year, we'll see how it goes... If I don't I will probably start trying to find something else.
Anyway, don't want to hijack your thread... let's keep it about wishing you good luck, though I am sure you will do just fine ;) |
Re: I quit my job! Going into business for myself
Wow, good luck to you! Gutsy move, quitting before getting something else up and running. I've heard the secret to running your own business is to only work half days. The best part is, it doesn't really matter which 12 hours you pick...

Re: I quit my job! Going into business for myself
I read this thread title with the wish that I could do what you are doing. I could go into business for myself doing computer repair/upgrades, making fudge, being an interpreter for Spanish/English, recording videos/photography such as weddings and other events and converting old VHS tapes to DVD. I could run all of this, but I don't trust the economy to bring me a constant work flow enough to replace my current income. I also did not take such classes as you did or have the confidence in myself that you do...so I am stuck as an underpaid slave.
Please help me. :( By the way...I have a friend at work whose boyfriend (who is Lebanese) owns a gas station. If you need pointers, I can make that happen. |
