Fallout 3 Install Help
OKay, a bit of background. I have both XP and Windows Server 2003 on my PC. I am trying to get Fallout 3 to work on Server 2003, because I want to eventually wipe my whole computer and swap it to Server.
I have 3 content packs for Fallout - Operation Anchorage, The Pitt, and Broken Steel, and four patches (1.0.0.15, 1.1.0.35, 1.4.0.50 and 1.5.0.00), and two mods. Originally, the unmodded, unpatched version of Fallout worked on Server. However, trying to mod and patch it (with content packs), the patches do not install (they get stuck and never finish, even hours later) and after removing it all and uninstalling, I reinstall, add the mods (which need no patches to run, and no content packs) and get the following error message "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0 150002). Click on OK to terminate the application" My question is - Does anyone know a way to get it working? It was working at one point, so I know it is possible to run on Server. And has anyone else run it on Server (I know that is unlikely, but I can still ask)? Cheers DS EDIT : Sorry, this should be under Misc gaming, I forgot we had that forum. Could a mod move it there please? |
Re: Fallout 3 Install Help
I don't know how to fix your problem but over at fallout nexus there are mods that are fake patches so the DLC can work with the unpatched version.

Re: Fallout 3 Install Help
Howdy DS,
have you scanned the registry to ensure there's no left over bits from the previous installation ? Also, have you tried the old 'step at a time' method i.e. install the game & run it, add a mod & run it, add another mod & run it... |
Re: Fallout 3 Install Help
I tried doing the step at a time thing this last time round. It would not even run just with Fallout installed, no mods, patches or expansions.
