Hey Six !! Shilo Chen ?
 

Will someone on these boards give a definative walkthru on the "Shilo Chen" quest. I mean the Shilo Chen you meet at the Crossroads(the area between the FAI and Beregost). He sez "why are you in the city when the forest is in danger",,). It seems no matter what quest I do, or what mod I have installed, I CANNOT get this ranger to go away. I don't even want the XP anymore....so can I kill him? Or is there a more moderate way? BTW, this ? is tongue in cheek,,,,, but I still want to know!!!

Is this part of some mod or something, cuz I don't recall this guy, or is he the one that pesters you on the way North along the road?

The only resolveable quests in the Crossroads sans mods are The Ogre, and I believe Kaigan's quest.

Like Firestormalpha, I have no recollection of Shilo Chen. It has to be a mod. I'm almost 100% sure of that.

Kyrvias is right--Shilo Chen is indeed from a mod, Unfinished Business in fact. I find it odd that he's in the Crossroads map, because in my game (admittedly, I have an old version of UB), he's in the Elfsong Tavern in BG City--which fits a lot better with his remark about your being "in the city."

I just checked UB's README, and there's no mention of moving Shilo Chen from the Elfsong to the Crossroads. It might be intentional (because Chen wants you to visit the Wood of Sharp Teeth, and if you first encounter him in BG City, completing his quest would involve going back over ground you'd previously covered), and it might be accidental (the UB folks might have saved his .CRE under the same filename as that already used by Aoln, the wolf-wary hunter that Firestormalpha mentioned). If Aoln is not present in your game (as Shilo Chen has taken his place), I think you should send the UB crowd an email to let them know. Better yet, start an all-new game and double-check the map area first, to be sure it wasn't a one-time bug.
