Dialog multiplayer bug
Hello guys,
I'm currently playing BG2 again with my brother (multiplayer) and we have faced an annoying bug. The NPC's (which are Jaheira, Minsc, Edwin, Hear'Dalis and Keldorn; I'm playing an assassin) seem to ignore each other. Normally they have conversations which make the game such a good game. I see that they are talking to each other ( lips-symbol in the portret, turning to each other) and the first sentences of the dialogue ( keldorn says to Jaheira: "So this is your Harper hold, Jaheira") and instead of continuing the dialogue quits. One more fact: In the beginning it was all fine, but after a while the bug happened, I cant recall when. Do you guys know what it could be and how I can resolve it.. I'd still like to hear Hear'Dalis saying his verse to edwina, for instance. Mod installed: tactics Xan redemption Acention Dungeon be gone |
Re: Dialog multiplayer bug
Howdy IranicuS,
hmmmm..... why does that name ring a bell.... :heee: Ascension & Redemption mods indicate you've got TOB - did you install the official 26498 patch ? Installing one of the fixpacks after the official patch is usually also recommended - probably the one from G3 since Baldurdash isn't supported any more. |
Re: Dialog multiplayer bug
I'm not familiar with multiplayer--it's possible (though not terribly probable) that non-quest and non-romance banters are turned off in multiplayer, to give the computers less stuff to worry about.
When people talk about their banters getting "stuck," a common solution I see suggested is to select each of your party members, one by one, and press the K key for each of them. Then again, I only see this bugfix mentioned in the READMEs of certain mods (Kelsey and Icewind Dale NPCs, specifically), so I don't know if it works on the original game . . . but it's certainly worth a shot. Lastly, why the heck are you playing a Multiplayer game with only 1 player-created character? Are you controlling the Assassin while your brother does the rest? |
Re: Dialog multiplayer bug
First of all thx for the replys.
Well one thing worked and that was we both have 3 characters controlled, they will only talk to each other if they are controlled by the same player for example i got jaheira and my brother got asassin it won't work but if i got them both under my control they will talk to each other... So it is just a strange bug i think it is because it is a old game who don't have good multiplayer support... |
