Am I getting sick? (neck lymph node hurts)

I'm usually never sick. Last time was like... 1998 I think. :) But when I woke up yesterday, my left side of my neck hurt a little--a very small lymph node is slightly swollen, meaning its fighting something off.

I'm not sneezing, no temp, nothing except a the neck thing and maybe a bit of fatigue.. not bad though.
I don't want to go to the Doc unless its needed. I know they say sometimes you need to let your body fight it off sometimes.. it's the second day now.. it did feel worse at bedtime last night though.. but that is normal right? your body gets more susceptible as its tired?

Just wanted to get your opinions.. :) I hope it just goes away..

Lymph nodes swollen or mild pain can indicate infection. I wouldn't worry about it until/unless it gets worse. Take some echinacea and some fluids, let your body drain it. Most likely a fluish virus but can also mean other infections. I haven't seen a doctor in over ten years.

That's a tricky question. The lymphs point only to the blood, but most infections get in there regardless of where they start. Fluish, coldy kinds of infections usually produce a swelling of the lymph nodes so it is safe to say it is prolly one of these. Like I said, fluids and something like the echinacea herb or a good calcium supplement to alkalize the blood, should clear it up.
