And another one withdraws.

At least this politician is not a tax fraud, embezzlement, or money for services crook!

I think this level of transparency is so good. While it is certainly curious how many of these politicians have tax skeletons in their closets (?), I find it refreshing that they are actually withdrawing as opposed to the horrible scandals we are all used to. We all remember the cover ups and denials that we saw so much of in the last few years. I recall Obama, who wasn't even guilty of any crime, saying "I screwed up" with the whole Tom Daschle incident. Tom screwed up, yet he took the brunt of the blow. Despite the crimes and atrocities commited by the previous administration we never once heard that. Ever. No apology, no admission, just arguing and fighting. This early tomfoolery is very telling, as it shows that this admin. will tackle problems head-on when they arise, as opposed to burying their heads in the sand. Finally, a president who actually understands the word "responsibility" and, one who can spell it too!

You are so correct, these politicians who are screwed up, SHOULD be locked up. Joe citizen misses a tax payment and he has a date with Bubba! So of course they are going to apologetic, even contrite in the face of the public. And certainly the person who picked them has to admit guilt. What was he thinking? The media that so adored him is his best friend? Ha, that's a good one. There is going to be many apologies coming from this administration!

You are correct. The media that adores him will not neccessarily give him the free ride, nor should they. Sic transit gloria mundi.

What a cynical approach for our nuetral "on the fence" watchdog!

But then, you don't think the previous administration screwed up - at least not in the sense the rest of the world (yes, world) does.

One thing he does have going is the media do indeed like him. Rather than it being some coincidence or stroke of luck it may also be because he is like-able. Or that he is honest. Or real. Or not a liar. Or that he didn't tell them someone had weapons and took them to war based on this falsehood. Couldn't believe that he already claimed responsibility for an F-up. In a world where people F-up all the time, it is so refreshing to actually have someone who is man enough to take the blame, rather than fix papers, interviews and stories to manipulate the facts. Like someone said before, he'd have to be caught screwing a dead animal before he even comes close to the circus that was the former president.

Now. Onto other things. How about the Blagoviech dude? The devil incarnate.

'Blago'? He is "THE MAN"! Not that he would attempt to sell a seat, or provide certain services from those who might be able to handle some lucrative inter-state business. And, don't forget about all those politicians, figure heads, and self made millionaires that might be associated with the vacated seat, or the person himself! Then, with an aristocratic flair, using such political bravado to seat a black man, the first black man to the senate, mind you! Bravo! Then, and only then, after he made the nomination, dared the senate not to pass his nominee's rights to passage! :bootyshake: But then again, he was the (D) governor from the same state the current president has recently departed, whom of which has roughly about the same political ethics, except maybe a bit more hardened, since he was seated in Chicago! Give 'Blago' a clinton stocked cigar!
