Installing BG1(w/TotSC)+BG2SOA with Easytutu...
Should I look into one of the fixpacks available? baldurdash? something better? Will it work with Easytutu; if it does should I install it prior to running the Easytutu install?
It seems like once a year I come back to it. |
Re: Installing BG1(w/TotSC)+BG2SOA with Easytutu...
I'm currently playing a BG1/TotSC run under EasyTuTu. Here is my install order.
1. BG1 w/TotSC expansion 2. BG2 and ToB expansion 3. ToB patch 26498 4. BG2 Fixpack 5. EasyTuTu for ToB (there are 2 versions of EasyTuTu, one for ToB, one without) 6. TuTuFix break-- Install plot or NPC related mods here, until you are done, then.... 12(i.e.)-- BG2 Tweaks (this mod tweaks weapons and other things. If you want the weapons and other stuff from content mods tweaked, then install this toward the end.) 13. Sword Coast Stratagems I (excellent mod. makes the monsters tougher thru AI improvements and pre-buffing. Install AFTER BG2 Tweaks{recommended by author}). Hope this helps! |
Re: Installing BG1(w/TotSC)+BG2SOA with Easytutu...
For the very most part yes, it helps immensely, ElfBane.
Just a question of clarification. Would BG1 fixpacks be done around the same time and BG2 fixpacks or would they be left out entirely since essentially the idea is to run the game in the BG2 engine? My thanks in advance. |
Re: Installing BG1(w/TotSC)+BG2SOA with Easytutu...
You don't want to install any tweaks or fixpacks targeting BG1. Plot or NPC related content should be installed after TuTuFix and before BG2Tweaks.

Re: Installing BG1(w/TotSC)+BG2SOA with Easytutu...
Ok, to recap, cuz I really don't want to screw up the install and have to start over.
1) install BG1+TotSC 2) install BG2SOA(+ToB if you have it) 3) BG2 patch (to whichever version you have) --Do I install the BG1 TotSC patch as well, or does that fall under the tweaks/fixpacks for BG1 category? 4) BG2 fixpack (the one by G3 I'm guessing would be good?) 5) Run EasyTuTu 6) TuTuFix (does this include the degreenifier, or does that need to be done additionally, or for that matter should I bother with the degreenifier?) 7) BG2 Tweaks (also on G3 site yes?) |
Re: Installing BG1(w/TotSC)+BG2SOA with Easytutu...
If you have the Original Saga version (3 CD) then you don't need the TotSC patch. If you have the 5 CD version, then install the TotSC patch.
Run the degreenifier if you plan to run 3D graphics. Otherwise, no need. |
Re: Installing BG1(w/TotSC)+BG2SOA with Easytutu...
Would that be before or after the TuTuFix? Or it doesn't matter?

Re: Installing BG1(w/TotSC)+BG2SOA with Easytutu...
I forget. Read the readme, But the degreenifier takes a long time(15-20 minutes on my machine, YMMV), so you only want to run it once. I would run it after TuTufix.

Re: Installing BG1(w/TotSC)+BG2SOA with Easytutu...
just checked the EasyTuTu site, said degreenifier should be run on a "clean/not yet modded installation". so probably before TuTufix, Now I gotta go look up the TuTufix and make 100% certain it's not included in there somewhere. Probably not, but it's good to double check.
To anyone else reading this: If you're looking for the BG2 Fixpack, it's in the sticky thread at the top of the BG2 forums (Or just click here . If you want EasyTuTu, search yahoo/google/etc. Or click here Gotta love the last command prompt: "Press ENTER to exit." |
