Is that the robe sold in Trademeet? Or where can I get hold of it?

First, you must have the Bonus Merchants. Then, find Deidre in the Adventurer's Mart, next to the Wyvern, and buy it from her for 27,000 GP. ;)

Actually, with a Charisma boost, you can get it for less.

(Easy way: Nymph Cloak from the guy at Mae'Vars guild + Ring of Human Influence = CHA 20).

I think I was able to pick up the robe for 21,000 GP doing it that way.

The reason why Sazerac hasn't mentioned anything about boosting the CHA past 20 is because that is the max CHA value that will affect prices.

The other major factor that provides discounts on goods is reputation. Get a 20 rep and you will get around 30% off your purchases!

I made a post in a thread a long while back that worked out the max discounts you could get:

Quote:

Note that a CHA above 20 will not affect item cost IIRC, but let me demonstrate how much cash a high CHA can save at the start of the game:
Taking a fairly expensive item: The Staff of Ryhnn +4
Cost with:
CHA 14 Rep 12 = 22275
CHA 18 Rep 12 = 18900
CHA 20 Rep 12 = 16605
CHA 14 Rep 20 = 15525
CHA 20 Rep 20 = 9990
So with a rep that does not affect cost, but high CHA, you are saving 5670 GP = 25%. With a max rep and low CHA, the saving is 6750 GP = 30% (not sure why it is stated as 50% in the manual), but with max Rep and CHA, you save 12285 GP = %55, so you are always getting the 25% discount for the high CHA.

I see, thanks for the help =)
But how does the spell "Friends" affect prizes?

Because Friends increases your charisma by 6, i.e. a mage with 14 CHA will get the full 25% discount off goods when casting friends, since it will raise the stat to 20 in this case.

The reason I didn't mention the Rep thing is that most people want the Robe of Vecna soon on, and it takes quite a few quests to build up rep (and if you're playing evil, you may not want that high rep, either!) ;) After the Irenicus dungeon, it only really takes two steps to get the 20 CHA:

1) Complete the Circus in Waukeen's Promenade and loot the ring from Kalah's body

2a) Go to the Docks district, find Mae'Var's guild, and talk to Gorch (the guy behind the counter) and ask to see his wares. You can either purchase or steal the Nymph's Cloak from him (use potions of Master Thievery if you go the "stealing" route).

or

2b) Cast the mage spell "Friends" to boost CHA temporarily. If your characters don't have it, there's a Friends scroll on one of the peasants/orcs in the first level of Kalah's Palace in the Circus.
