First time in the top 10 for me!

Pretty good, considering I'm the only one who doesn't cheat! ;)

You're not the only one -- good, bad, or just lucky, it's all me...

It takes a lot of practice. It took me months to get my times down into the 45-60s range, and I was able to slowly bring it down after that. Now I can sometimes turn in a time in the mid 30s, but only on easy categories where I skim questions and spot answers quickly.

On many days, I couldn't tell you what the full questions actually were--I saw a few key words and matched it to an answer choice (or I saw 'all of the above' and skipped the question entirely!). For example, if I see Isaac Newton in the question, and apple, pear, grapefruit, and orange are the answers, I pick apple and move on. No need to read the whole question.

And of course, I'll never start a quiz unless I have a stable net connection and a scroll-wheel mouse attached.

When the category is like sports or music and I know I'll be guessing alot, I usually just go with the choice that sounds more famous. Those days my times aren't so low, as I have to read the whole question and decide what to guess.

The reading is the killer for me. And in trying to read fast, it just makes it worse.

I'm with Olorin. A few key words make a big difference, and many times I'll go with "the one answer I've ever heard of". Sometimes that fails... cricket results, Australian musicians (except that one good singer ;) ), UK geography...

In excess of 95% of the time, "All of the above" is the correct answer ;)

And a wheel mouse makes a lot of difference. I usually keep a thumb on the space bar, too... sometimes the mouse clicks don't take, but a space bar will cover it.

About two years ago (man, has it been that long?) I used to cheat... I'd open nine or ten google windows before starting the quiz, and I'd copy/paste the questions in as best I could. I'd get 'em all right (usually), but it would usually take well over 100 seconds... and I could do *that* on my own.

I've never cheated, I'm just not very fast because I read the whole question - sometimes twice.
