Holy smokes! I could feel certain body parts crawling inside for safety as I watched that... and yes, I was wondering if he'd try a finger.

That's impressive... in many, many ways.

Does inspire me to a couple of additional tests, though... like if you move a finger through quickly, will it still be safe? I also wonder how long until the table saw goes bye-bye from dispersing the excess torque.

I hope the patent went through before that episode aired.

As for the results if you tried to put your finger through at a high speed, dunno. Though the way the system seems to work at worst you'd get a nasty nick.

Thats amazing. I was just using/helping use a table saw today. Fingers are always on my mind when using one.

Agreed. In any argument between you and a table saw, the table saw wins, no matter whether you were right or not.

Same goes for Miter and Band saws as well. Treat'em with respect, and enjoy the fruits of your labor, and help the kids count to ten with your shoes on.

Fantastic idea. Pity it can't be converted to steel. Or can it?... :1ponder:
