I've gotten into the left room with the mystic fire, but i can't get through the gate on the other side that lowers as you get close to it.

I've tried using a crate and running.. no luck!

But I have tried the right passage, but the solution should be similar:

Just go back a bit. There is a lever at the wall, which opened the gate into that area. Then run (all your party should be maximum health) and the other gate will be open for a while or open when you step towards it. It is just a matter of timing.
