Sorry for being such a novice, but where is it played? How is it played. I know nothing about it, someone please explain.

best thing I can suggest:

1) Get yourself a copy of the Player's Handbook and try to understand it

2) Find a gaming group already playing it in your area

Otherwise, that is one HELL of a loaded question ;)

One thing it really needs is a suspension of common sense. It sorta gets rid of the feeling of awkwardness and idiocy you get when you pretend your DM is a ale-swigging dwarf asking you to drink with him. It makes you feel like you're back in kindergarten playing pretend..

Go there, maybe you'll find the beginning of an answer.

If your interested in downloading the handbook (2nd edition) go here. It gives you the basics and then if you're interested, you might want to purchase the 3rd edition and see which one you like better. (I don't believe there is a downloadable version yet.)

methinks 3rd Edition is better :-p

I've been reading my buddies copy and I think I'm leaning more toward 3rd Edition myself.
