I'm going through the twisted rune fight at the docks, and everytime I attempt it, I get smooshed.

My party:

Me-Archer
Mazzy level 18
Jaheira level 17
Keldorn level 19
Anomen level 21
Korgan level 18

please has anyone got a tactic walkthrough to this one, or something?

omg. you have no mage whatsoever? This battle (and many others) are hopeless without a mage. Ditch Jaheira and go get Edwin or Imoen. I'm amazed you made it this far without a mage.

I second that.. No theif either? What r u smoking? You need to have a mage and a theif to really get anywhere. For the twisted rune you're gonna get wasted without a mage, and setting traps helps with a theif... wow.

I agree drop someone and get a mage. I would drop Mazzy since you're
an archer. Then you still have two fighters, two healers (one that
can cast insect plague), an archer, and then a mage.

BTW, I'm not saying it couldn't be done...just REAL hard. Go buy
some scrolls of protection...magic, undead.

I kinda got tired of the mages and I don't like Jan, or Imoen, and Yoshi....well he's obviously out of the picture...
So I figured I'd try playing without either a mage or a thief...and here I am..it's gone well up 'til now...this is the only thing I have left before going to the Underdark...

Aha. Inexperienced you say. What items do you have? I
assume the Shield of Balduran and Daystar. Takes care of two
of the problems. Cast insect plague on the mage that appears
inside the room with you. Summon other allies to take the
brunt of the initial spells. Time stop, etc.. Finish off
the mage in the room. Use potions of invis., haste.
Gate in demon with Anomen, insect plague the main room. You
can always false dawn the undead, delorous decay.

Not necessarily all in that order but find some good stuff and
mix it up.

If things got any better, I'd be twins.

The problem is that you've got to take out the lich in the small room first - and since he casts cute things like protection from magic weapons, stoneskin, fireshield etc, you won't have a chance to hurt him before he's cast offensive spells like fear, meteor storm etc, etc.

You need a mage to bring down those defences. Take it from all of us experienced folks here... and include one in your party...

sorry to disagree, but just dump all your NPCs, tank up your fighter...damn, your an archer. wait a second. ok, new plan..

go to the adventurers mart, and buy two protection from magic scrolls. (this _will_ make the kangaxx fight _much_ harder http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/frown.gif ) dump all your NPCs with the exception of ... korgan (hes a figher isnt he?) ) put prot from magic scroll on both of you and wade on in. i think the reward for that fight is the staff of the magi, which is only usable by mages, beggin the question ,why bother?

1) have Jaheria cast ALL the summoning spells she has....i advise you o edit her book then rest.....I would summon her up some Fire elmementals

2)send them up in front of all of your fighters(the fire emls)

3)have them set there attacking the MAGE

4)have mazzy in the back with her bow(umm...the avarianal<---?)
i dunno what the name of it is

5)have all of your fighters run in at the same time and start killing the other people
