Come on, what is it? I'll wait to hear other people's opinions before I put mine forward.

I think that it is, Melf's Mini Meteors, Now maybe it's because I've never tried it before, but I started a game with a CE Sorcerer and picked it. It's awesome people are becoming crispy critters, bursting into flame, etc.

I don't know if this is considered an underrated spell, but it's my vote.

It depends on circumstance. Playing solo with a mage stoneskin is an bsolute must, I think Jahiera's Swarm of Insects spell is very good (and possibly under-rated)

Animate dead.

I think Chromatic orb is. It's a really cool spell.

I'd agree with Chromatic orb, it's great.

I think Melfs flame arrow

Chromatic Orb is not underused, it is the must-have level 1 spell wogether with Magic Missiles. Stoneskin and insect swarm/plague are also extensively used. Animate dead used by a lot of people as well nowadays. I'd say Tensers Transformation is under rated, since I've never heard of anybody using it, even though it is exceptionally cool.

Not sure if many use Chromatic Orb... ...

All I usually see is Magic Missile. :/

Oh well, here's some I think people should use more often.

Emotion,
Chromatic Orb,
Globe of Invulnerability,
Spell Immunity,
Protection from Magical Energy,
Contingecy,
Protection from Petrification,
Melf's Acid Arrow,
Flame Arrow,
Spell Thrust,
Secret Word,
Domination,
Hold Monster

These are some spells, which I feel are neglected. :/ All my mages have them besides other spells. http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

For clerics... ...

Chaotic Commands I think, not sure.
False Dawn,

The most underrated spell hmm? That is a tough one. For priests, I would have to say Earthquake is the most underrated. The main benefit is knocking opponents off their feet (and thereby disabling them temporarily), even if they are magic resistant. It also does pretty decent damage.

For Mages, I would have to say Similacrum is the most underrated. Project Image is regarded by most as more powerful as you can cast all of the same spells, but it prevents the character casting it from moving while active and the copy cannot make any physical attacks (like Melf's Minute Meteors). Project Image is better when you are a lower level as Similacrum creates a copy at 60% of your level, but as you reach high levels, it is very powerful. You can also have your Similacrum cast Similacrum, and they are created at a level actually higher than the original Similacrum; this must be an oversight in the programming.
