Well I just got this game and ir rocks. I am playing with my club (Olimpija) and I am beat Barcelona in a friendly match.
What's your opinion on this game?

Great!
I've started a game with my own club and got offered the job as coach of Hungary on the way
==> World Cup 2006 goes to Hungary !! (3:0 vs. Brazil in the last game, and it goes without saying that I didn't reload once during the finals)

I especially like the way character of the players is calculated in and how I get to answer questions to the reporters.

That would be impossible in real life (although would feel quite good). :D

Is the game similar to championship manager type with all the numbers and stats and you can only see the words while the match play OR is it similar to FIFA where you can watch your team play in 3d?

I thinks it's a 2D match you get but FIFA's 3D verion is pretty unrealistic anyway. If you want accurate 3D matches try out LMA manager.

Yeah but LMA Manager 2005 isn't out yet I think. I don't see it in the shops nor in gamefaqs.

Well LMA has been out in the UK for about a month now on console and PC.

Football Manager 2005 is the new game from Sports Interactive(SI) the creators of the Championship Manager(CM) series. Eidos the publisher bought the rights for CM but SI retained the rights for the game code used in the last CM, therfore the game is very like the last CM.

That paragraph sounded like a SI press release :D

So, it is a text heavy game like CM. It's the best manager game out, all the others are second class compared to it. Matches aren't in 3D but are shown in 2d.

Now I'm off to try and get Sevilla in the Champions League! Lost out on a Champions League place by 1 point last season it really pissed me off!
