Imagine the scenerio if you will. There are three people, Able, Ben and Cain.

Ben is telling Able, "He(Cain) talked behind your(Able) back."

Therefore Cain is talking in front of Ben. He(Cain) is talking in front of you(Ben).

I hope I got it right.

Yesyesyesyes I see your point Dundee... but then the logic is that he is talking behind his back (which technically means backstabbing), and you are not included. Since you could have just overheard the other conversation, and then you cannot really infer that the guy was even talking in front of you...

Methinks im just drunk enough to see some sense in this. Your back faces behind you, yes? The front of your back is behind you, the back of your back is in front of you. Therefore someone talking behind your back is talking in front of you.
