I was wondering what is the best cleric? It doesnt make any sense to do a normal cleric sense there no down sides, except to alinment thing, but that doesnt really matter to me.

Half-orc cleric of lathanda. Amazing fighter, good spells and also boon of lathanda which protects u from level drain, very important when fighing undead. Also turn undead abilty.

Normal Clerics don't have quests related to their temples.

Lathander is best at medium to high levels though Helm is also good.
Talos is good only for evil char.

So disincluding alignment and just BG2 not ToB(items in ToB makes the abilities obsoulete):

Probably Helm, Lathander, Talos
But it REALLY depends on taste!!!!! Try the char creation to see ALL details!

Right, my cousins got TOB and his cleric has done a quest and its now a Dragon Slayer. I just thought that it would be a good Idea to play as cleric if thats what you can become. When fighting a Dragon his armour and spells grant him 100% protection from fire.

I think a Dwarven Priest of either Helm or Lathander would be the best. There are some sweet hammers in the game, one usable only by Dwarves.
Lathander only because it's sooooo good to be Good when exploding the undead. Helm because True Sight rules, and the sword attack thing is really good when you're high level and have a decent THAC0.
