I'm going to keep this very simple.
I will not tell you about the world until the game begins.
I will not explain what is going to happen as it will all make sense in due time.
All I will say is this:
I am about to start a very simple game campaign based on a world of my own creation which is very vast and ultimatley limitless. I am interested in people who are willing to play through it and help me develop campaign ideas which I can use in future games, books, comic books, etc...
Here's a list of races you can choose from to play as:

Races:

Human, Aasimar, teifling, Kitsune, Android, Skins, Vacuum Genasi, Lightening Genasi, Dust Genasi, Ice genasi, Fire Genasi, Negative Genasi, Positive Genasi, Radience Genasi, Salt Genasi, Smoke Genasi, Ooze Genasi, Mineral Genasi, Magma Genasi, Steam Genasi

Then pick a job:

Jobs:

Ancient Specialist - Uses Swords and fantasy-type weapons
Proto Specialist - Weilds unusual futuristic weapons
Techromancer - Able to manipulate technology with the mind
Nano Mage - Able to use nano-bots to cast "Magic" and construct things
Lylock Rebel - Able to use time-controlling abilities
Gun Specialist - Uses only guns
Plane cutter - Uses a clock-based weapon and is able to planeshift
Pilot specialist - Able to pilot craft of any kind well
Military Specialist - A general mix of piloting, firearms, and close combat

There are also race-specific jobs which will be left out of this campaign in order to keep it as absolutley simple as possible.

So post your character's name, race, and job. Skills, weapons, and a story will be given to you in due time in the game. I'm going to make everyone's starting rank "Lutinnant". I will not explain the ranks to you because you will find out about them yourself in due time.

Also: You should post an organization which you work for, here are the organizations and who they take their orders from:

Mercs - The mercenary organization receives its orders from Hive Mind- an all knowing computer god. They do a little of everything mission-wise.

Lylocks - These people are led by a highly inteligent psionic who does not like to deal with poletzai affairs. These missions almost always involve time travel.

Interdimensional Poletzai - The police force that controlls the multiverse and keeps a balance maintained. They are run by a mysterious, silouetted, cigarette smoking man who takes his orders from the Hive Mind.

INFORMATION: here is a planescape based "Monster Manual" type page which heighlights the quasi-genasi races and provides information on them. http://users.erols.com/aburner/planescape/

Here is a page that describes SOME (but not all) kinds of aasimar. http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Vault/9974/aasimar.htm An aasimar type that I like to allow outside of these include Cruisaders (the kind with tentacles coming out the back of their head).

For Teifling fans there's this: http://dndrealmsofadventure.tripod.com/tiefling.htm

As for Kitsunes, if being half-person-half-fox with slightg shapeshifting skills doesn't make sense then uhh... think werewolf only without the uncontrolable lycanthropy and replace wolf with fox.

If you want any details past this, the only thing I can provide you with is this: http://membres.lycos.fr/th8or/ScribeManga1.htm

I'm interested! I'll post a character once I get back from class...

btw, you might want to elaborate a bit more on the races, or at least point us to where we can find info on them ;)

Whee! As you know, I'm a fan of our RPGs, Deathkiller, so I'm definetly signing up for this. I was thinking of playing Kaerban, a tiefling Proto Specialist Merc, but tieflings have +1 level penalty. Is it disregarded, or will you emulate it somehow? Tell me if you want other rolls or stats or anything for that matter.

Jus curious, how are you gonna work the rules in this game? We wont be able to say that we just smack something, and it dies, will we? That wouldn't be any fun. Anyways, I think I might give this Online Rping thing a shot. I'm take a few, and decide what I want as a character goes.

It'll work out and no i wont allow for anything of that nature.

In regard to bozo's question: I don't care about stats and I don't care about levels. your Rank is the only thing that will go up/down with your progress in the game. Leveling is highly unrealistic when you think about it.

hmm, I'm interested in the relationships between nano-mages and technomancers as nanites are simply microscopic machines... is it a specialty towards a smaller size, or can a technomancer control a nano-mage's nano-bots...

Ekans, Human Nano Mage, Merc Lieutenant

Stormymystic 09-07-2004 02:49 PM
