Cloudy's Cafe

Come in, be welcome, be comfortable, be yourself

Welcome to Cloudy's Cafe, a place to have a cup of coffee or a good
darjeeling and the finest in conversation and camaraderie.

The proprietor asks that you follow a few simple guidelines:

this is a real conversation zone, not a role-play zone

[i]* no flaming; if you disagree with a viewpoint expressed by any patron, please do so in a civil manner
* any topic is fair game, but keep posts to the standards that Ziroc has set for the entire forum, please (ie: foul language is not appropriate and things should be suitable for all audiences)
-a side note from Cloudy: I see this as a place for those short
conversations about a new baby or the latest soccer fiasco, not for things that are big enough to warrant their own threads, by all means give those things the space they need and post separately!
* Please, no one word or smiley posts (Ziroc has declared them 'real spam' and the proprietor doesn't want the reputuation of "good spam" to suffer!)
* do feel free to be serious or silly and enjoy the company of others while you are here. By all means POST if you have something to say, even to start another topic , we can handle multiple chats, we're a CAFE!!! But be courteous and don't disrupt a conversation just to disrupt it.[i]

Come on in! The bar is stocked with coffees, teas, juices and waters from around theworld. And purple napkins, of course!

The lighting is low, the golden oak counters and tables glow with inviting warmth. Near the window, the lighting is brighter, as comfy, plush leather armchairs wait for those who'd like to read a book while relaxing to music or just lazily watch the world go by.

Hey everyone! We have hot coffee, fresh tea and lots of goodies!

I spent a miserable night on painkillers, but am feeling up to a post or two. Can't wait to have this tooth out, may call for an emergency appt if it doesn't get better tomorrow. :(

Back to work tomorrow.. ugh.. I always loved Saturdays and despised Sunday evenings because it meant going back to school or work. blech!

Hi, Cloudy! No fair that you got the first post, LOL. Sorry that your tooth is hurting. Are you on antibiotics? Is there any swelling?

LOL... well I did let it sit a while! ;)

Argh.. the tooth.. this one is a real 'fun' one. Had some pain several months ago but dentist couldn't find any reason other than trauma (my bite is off) so we filed and it seemed to go away.. a week or so ago had a routine checkup and it's badly decayed.. going to have to get pulled (no way to do a root canal, it's not even going to really be missed and is in a really bad spot to do a rc in). BUT my coworker is on vacation and I didn't want to schedule my appt. while she's away and the SOONEST they can do is 3 wks from now! So I'm gonna go on the cancellation list or emergency IF it gets worse. Not much swelling, but dull ache... sigh.. gonna buy a BIG bottle of pain relievers!

Too bad, Cloudy. You definitely need to be on antibiotics, IMHO.. Is there a dentist on call, so he could call you in some? It'd make you more comfortable. Sorry to stick my nose in. Just got back from exciting trip to Dallas. Scored big time in the clothes department. I'm going to pour poor (get it?) Attalus a martini and watch the closing ceremonies. Will try to get back on later, if he doesn't make me pay for my sins.
