Redblueflare, I have screened for viruses but I always thought that was in the realm of files and folders. I didn't know the CPU unit itself was scanned. Is there a special way to do this or do virus scans such as McAlfree or Symantec take care of this?

You're asking the wrong person lol! :D Z or some other cpu expert we need you! I don't know much about worms but they can't be good for your computer. Well didn't I just speak the obvious... Oh the cpu unit! I can do that. Scan your hard drive. On most cpu's this is the C drive. If you have any extra hard drives scan them too! Hope that helps. What were you scanning before?
RBF, the terminology you`re using is *realy* confusing Albromor ;)
The cpu does NOT mean the whole computer, as you`re using it, but infact it is the Central Processing Unit. It is a tiny chip with a HUGE fan hidden away deep within your system unit (read: the metal box that isn`t the monitor). You can`t scan your CPU for viri, as the CPU is a *physical* thing
Albromor- he means scan your entire computer ;)
