When I played with Minsc, he was a ranger but his skills was similar to a Fighter. Is there any differences between a Fighter and a Ranger?

Fighters Rule!!!

I think other than two-weapon style, rangers cannot improve beyond specialisation (2 slots). Fighters can go all the way to 5 slots.

rangers can hide in shadows, use some minor priest spells, and start with two points spent in two weapon fighting. and they take a bit longer to level-up. i prefer fighters though, they get better at weapons, and increase in level better. i use my thief to hide in shadows, and my cleric to use priest spells, so a fighter it is. oh, and a ranger MUST be of a "GOOD" alignment!!!
