Is there a way for thieves to use scrolls to cast spells? If so, how?

Thanks

You could dual class them into a mage, so they can use scrolls.

Uh, as far as I know, just thief-mages like Imoen and Nalia. I know, I think high-level thieves get shafted. I think that's why Bioware turned Imoen into a thief-mage for SoA. By the way, where'd she get all that extra experience? Go to wizard school? I, for one was pleasantly surprised, as I had turned Im into a thief-mage for BGI, but not near that advanced.

If you have ToB, Thieves get a special ability called Use Any Item. This removes all class restrictions on all items, you can equip the Thief with crazy things like Carsomyr and yes, cast from scrolls.

In the PnP (at least the second Ed. rules), thieves can use mage scrolls when they acheieve a certain level, but with the chance of a failure. I am not sure, if Bioware implemented this into BG...
