I'm sure I'm not the only person this has happened to. :D Since my girlfriend Taryn came back to Sydney last Thursday from Japan it's happened about ten times. Last Thursday it happened at least three times at three different bars on the same night - some bloke comes up and puts the move to try and pick her up - irrespective of whether or not you're there (check Stealthy's site, page 41, for pics of the said night in question). :D

This used to happen all the time while she was here before as well, it used to piss me off (I can be quite possessive at times  ), but I guess I've just gotten used to it now. So I thought I'd make a poll about it to see how people would react if this happened to you - curious to see how everyone reacted. :D

PS. I forgot to substitute boyfriend/husband/gay partner/etc for girlfriend/wife, please do so - don't want the girls to feel out of place. ;)

Verbal comments/responses would also be welcome.

my gf's the one who subtily lets people know she's taken ;)

well... i am the jealous type... but i don't make it a factor in our relationship... well if we aren't obvious that we are couple that time, haha. but if everybody knows that we're together andthis guy still persists, i'd label him a/an (insert profanity here). it will make her laugh.. and that's my consolation... but in general, hey, she's that hot... cool ;)

Hmm...I guess that would fall under the "she can handle herself" choice, Jay C. :D

Good to see you again, btw. Offtopic - I hear you might get turned into a stone golem again :D ).

Back on topic, don't want to lose this topic. ;)

Girls and guys are always hitting on my husband, it makes me feel insecure, amused and jealous, cuz most of the girls are size 2's with breast out to here :D and the guys, all seem to be rich , no he is not gay or bi, and that is why I find it amusing, and I make sure everyone knows he is mine :D no woman talks to him unless he tells them he is married, or I make his life a living nightmare or a few days :D

Yes it used to happen, though Carolyn my wife would of course be flattered at first she would quickly make it known she was not available. And I always thought that was very sweet. In return whenever at a party or such and I am chatting to a lady I am conscious of her mistaking my interest. I am always quick to mention my wife and kids. This makes women more relaxed knowing that they are not being chatted up and I in fact want to TALK to them.

And it also gets around the problem of me never wearing a wedding ring. Which when I say I'm married they pick up on straight away! *Women * Mind you the older/fatter/balder I get the less this seems to happen

When we where courting we always where a close couple and I guess our body language was a no go zone for people. I guess you just have to treat your loved one like you would like to be treated, that is shut down any intruder straight away.

I just realised I forgot to give my own opinion. Maybe I didn't want to skew the poll. :D

First of all, this has happened to me with every girl I've been out with...but with Taryn it happens a hell of a lot more - practically every time we go out. Once we went out to a basketball game, went outside to have a cigarette, and a couple of blokes tried picking her up while we were having a cigarette. :D

It used to piss me off before, you get amused and pissed off at the same time - I mean once in a while it's fine, but all the time it gets really irritating. I didn't mind people talking to her or flirting with her, it's only those I-love-myself-types that sleaze on her that pissed me off. Plus she's such a nice sweet girl, she'll give anyone the time of day, so I was a bit worried about her maybe leading people on. Then I just got over it - don't really care now, it's quite funny watching them actually. :D I trust her to handle herself or find some way to extricate herself from the situation. But you always keep an eye, and be ready to provide support if required. ;)

Memnoch, i've been in the same kind of situation like you. I had a girlfriend that had that kind of effect on guys, ALL of them, just like the one you have now.

At first i felt like i had to build a wall around her to keep all the guys away, but you only make a fool of yourself when you do that. It's all up to Taryn in this case. What's her reaction to all these guys trying to get her attention ? Does she make it clear she has a boyfriend ?

You probably feel like you wanna crack some skulls every time you go out and things like that happen. Well, i know how you feel, but don't give in to that feeling. You'll be fighting an endless battle, cause next time you go out, others will be lining up, and the whole thing starts all over again. You just don't have girls like that completely for yourself when you go out. Unless you lock her up inside your house, better get used to it. These are things you can't moderate. :D
