About alcoholic beverages and marijuana, are they both legal for only ages 18 and over or is alcohol for 18+ and marijuana for 16+ or alcohol for 16+ and marijuana for 18+?

Thank you in advance.

Does it answer your question when i tell you i was already drinking myself silly in bars and clubs at the age of 13 ? :D

I'm sure there are SOME rules here, but most people don't care what your age is. No sane bartender says no to your money, regardless of your age.

Legal age for drinking is 16+ and legal age for marijuana is 18+. But as johnny said, most of the times the people supplying the stuff won't bother to ask for ID or something.

I doubt that goes for soft-drugs as well. I've never seen a coffeeshop where they don't ask for ID. Planning a visit, USS?

See...the more I hear about this magical place more I believe it doesn't exist! :D

Too good to be true. ;)

I might have to go one of these days.

It's so easy to get weed not from a coffee shop. But even in coffeeshops I doubt they ask for ID always cause I know a lot of people that aren't 18 and go to coffeeshops. Others just have a few bushes at home :D

Underage drinking is even easier. There's barely control on it and if you want to enter certain 18+ places they won't bother asking you ID.

Thanks for the replies, everybody!

Actually yes, I am planning a visit. In just half an year, my class will finish the 9th grade. We'd like for our end trip to be good. ;)

We're all 15-16 years old but I guess that before the summer, most of us (if not all) will be 16 years old.

From what you guys are saying it seems like we won't have any trouble. I'd love to try some Dutch pie. :D

It's still not decided whether we'll go to Holland at all, since some people want to visit other places. There have also been offers to go to Czech, St. Petersburg and Hungary to name a few. My personal place of preference (alternative to Holland) would be St. Petersburg. Though I've heard it's a dangerous place, it's supposed to have stores where you can buy music and such stuff for a low price.

You want me to make you a list of coffeeshops here in Utrecht that DON'T ask your ID ? And i don't mean in my case, because it's pretty obvious i'm an adult, but whenever i enter one, or walk by one, there's loads of really young guys getting stoned at the bar or in some corner.

Just like the websites on which a CD costs $1 ;) If you're going to buy a CD you might as well buy it where the artist gets his money.
