I go downstairs and make a cup of tea, and when i get back to my room, i discover it is whurring and buzzing at me. I honastly don't know why, lmao.

johnny 12-16-2004 04:32 AM

Do you hear whispering voices that tell you to get out ? :D

TheGodThatFailed 12-16-2004 04:39 AM

No, i drank the tea, and nothing happened, so why it was buzzing i don't know. It deffinatly was, i put my head up to mug to check, i could hear it loudest with my tab right next to the mug...

Callum 12-16-2004 04:43 AM

Oh... the tea was buzzing? I thought you're room was...
Maybe you had a bee in it? :D

TheGodThatFailed 12-16-2004 04:48 AM

Lol, i think i would have noticed if i'd swallowed a bee :D

J'aran 12-16-2004 04:56 AM

Haha, I take it it tasted normal enough?

Was it actually really buzzing, or was it more a sizzling kind of sound, like a bubbly soft drink makes?

TheGodThatFailed 12-16-2004 05:09 AM

It tasted fine, and was actually REALY buzzing :|

Then it was probably the normally inaudible sound of the infinite multiverse resonating through your brew. Shame you drank it, with a little practice in interpreting it you could've had the knowledge of a thousand worlds at your disposal. Now it'll all go down the toilet in a few hours time, in slightly altered form. What a waste.

TheGodThatFailed 12-16-2004 05:18 AM

LMAO. Aaw, i feel silly now :D

Nickzilla 12-16-2004 05:25 AM

Either that or your ear went odd for a second.

Hivetyrant 12-16-2004 05:30 AM

I think scratching the chicken pox on the back of his head have caused them to grow into his brain or something

TheGodThatFailed 12-16-2004 05:57 AM

Lol, possably hivetyrant. But anthisan spray makes those ictehs be gone, now it's the ones COVERING my back that's the problem.

Link 12-16-2004 08:13 AM

And you can't reach them :D

Lady Sedai 12-16-2004 08:31 AM

Yeah, but if he's determined, he can spritz the stuff on his upper back and let it drip down to, hopefully, affect the other pox on his back so they won't itch.

Link 12-16-2004 08:35 AM

Or he could just ask someone else to do it :D

Lady Sedai 12-16-2004 08:35 AM

OH! And I meant to say that, though I can't properly explain it, the noise you were hearing is normal. ;)

It's something to do with the heat of the water and the porousness of the mug you are drinking out of...or sumfink.

TheGodThatFailed 12-16-2004 12:03 PM

Well, i can reach the ones on the top of my back AANNDD I myself have never heard a buzzing cup of tea before, i shall use the same mug again and see what happens, L.Sendai :D

Blunderbuss 12-16-2004 12:16 PM

Wow. Scientific discoveries on Ironworks. :D Does a buzzing cup of tea count as science?

Lady Sedai 12-16-2004 12:23 PM

Okay...doing a bit of researching, it seems your buzzing could be attributed to cracks in the glazing of your mug allowing a minute amount of moisture to seep into the cracks.

Upon heating, the little buzzing/whistling/popping noises is that trapped moisture boiling/evaporating out of those tiny fissures.

There. Science lesson for the day...sort of.

TheGodThatFailed 12-16-2004 12:27 PM

I was quite glad i'd missed science today, thankyou very much But i am happy i found out why my tea was buzzing, but am also upset that i didn't have a magic tea :(

Lady Sedai 12-16-2004 12:30 PM

Okay then. I take it back.

You really do have magical, mystical tea that's trying to talk to you. ;)

Raistlin Majere 12-16-2004 12:37 PM

I think the multiverse-theory could be quite accurate...

Yay, i'm a millionaire!! :D :D

Cloudbringer 12-16-2004 01:25 PM

*snicker* What if it only works when you have chicken pox? ;)

Illumina Drathiran'ar 12-16-2004 02:34 PM

All silent but for the buzzing... Yes, the buzzing! So-called... In the ears... But not in the ears at all... In the skull. DULL ROAR IN THE SKULL...

A cookie to the first person to figure out what the above quote is from. No fair using Google, either. This is a test of obscure knowledge.

Variol (Farseer) Elmwood 12-16-2004 04:04 PM

Did you nuke the water or boil it? Sometimes nuking does weird things, specially when you put the bag in.

TheGodThatFailed 12-16-2004 04:43 PM

No idea Illumina. Not a clue :D

Absynthe 12-16-2004 07:06 PM

Illumina... it's from a play? I think? A soliloquy if I remember... Damn, my memory is so shot.
No cookie for you!

Illumina Drathiran'ar 12-16-2004 07:47 PM

It is from a play, yes. Not quite a soliloquy, though...

Absynthe 12-16-2004 07:57 PM

GRRRRRRRR!!!
About five years ago I went to every play I could for a couple of seasons, and i swear I heard that... I'm going to go sift through my drawer of junk and see if I can find a ticket stub or a programme that will tip me off.
So bloody frustrating when your brain fails you.

LOL
ahhhh, the subtle mysteries of the multiverse...
or, better yet, Behold the power of Tea!!!

that quote sounded like something outta "a hitchhikers guide to the galaxy"
or one of those in the series

Aelia Jusa 12-17-2004 03:44 PM

Oh, from a play? LOL I thought it was from that science guy in the Simpsons. I could have sword I heard him saying that :D

I'll just get my philistinic coat ;)

quietman1920 12-17-2004 05:11 PM

The only way I get a buzz from my tea is when I pour a shot of whiskey it...
