irenicus the actor doing voice overs........
allways thought he would do anything for money/power[QUOTE]

nightshift001 11-28-2001 06:03 PM

Ever noticed how irenicus sounds just like Zark from the Walt Disney movie Tron? i did.

Kaleban 11-28-2001 06:10 PM

That's because the actor doing the voice IS that guy from Tron! He's also the Admiral Tolwyn in the Wing Commander movie, and in various other films. He's a classically trained British actor, but his name escapes me for the moment.

He ususally plays either bit parts in well-known movies, or larger parts in smaller budget, Sundance-esque movies.

ARGH! What was his name??? They have a Voice-Over cast listing in the back of the manual, but not who is who. Sassarazzinfrassa!

andrewas 11-28-2001 06:24 PM

hes also doctor zoran in Star trek : generations, at least _if_ the actor that played tolwyn win WC:the movie is the same as the one who did in WC3: The Heart of the Tiger.

i have his name, right here...
no i dont.
but i do ave a copy of generations around, ill post it here tomorrow if nobodies found it.
arrgh.

oh, and while were (vaguely) on the subject of Wing Commander, is the movie any good?

Kaleban 11-28-2001 06:31 PM

The movie is good for a lark, its not a brain-fest, but its better than B-material.

Watch it for fun, but it sure isn't Oscar material. I was always a fan of Chris Roberts' games, and the movie was good, but the poor showing of the Kilrathi-Human war (main theme) and the big focus on the Human-Pilgrim split (minor theme in games) kind of detracted from ym enjoyment. Still, the actors had fun with it, and its on USA Networks alot...

Galadria 11-28-2001 06:45 PM

Interesting. I thought he was trying to sound like Boris Karloff, but now remember that BK WAS a classically trained English actor. BTW, does anyone else think that Irenicus in the end movie looked like Scwarzenegger? If I were Ah-nuld, I'd sue for defamation. LOL

andrewas 11-28-2001 08:57 PM

i have had a brainstorm.

*ouch*

the guys name is ...

drum roll...

Malcom McDowell (or something like that)

id have the spelling right as well, but SOMBODY TAPED OVER ST:GENERATIONS AND I HAVENT KILLED THEM YET!!!

anyway hes the guy who played tolwyn in WC3:heart of the Tiger.

im sure of it.

but he isnt mentioned in the credits in the back of the manual, so it cant be him.

i did notice the broccoli (lieutenant j.g. Reginald " broccoli" Barclay, engineering officer USS Enterprise NCC-1701-E, currently assigned to Project Pathfinder) (aka Dwayne Scultz) is in it.

Yes, i watch what is probably too mch star trek.

now,how far off-topic can we get before memnoch finds out?

Whailor 11-29-2001 04:05 AM

I do not think that the Irenicus voice is done by Malcolm McDowell, sorry. It was someone else. While the spelling and "speech" as such do sound similar, 'british', the voices are different. Cannot recall the name now, can check once I get back to home..

SecretMaster 11-29-2001 07:05 AM

When I was younger, there was a show called MIB (rig of the movie) and they had Irenicus's voice too! His voice is just so weird, but powerful and evil sounding. Wonder whats it like when he comes home and says "Kids, I'm home" hahahaha/
