So, I am sticking iwth my party through this first time playing. They are me (archer with grandmastery in longbow), jaheira, minsc, valygar, aerie and jan.

I want to know whcih stuff that is used fo rspecial weapons I should keep lugging around. For example, I am not going to have the D'Arnisee mage join, so will I never get the gesen bow string?

So far I have some (yuck) human flesh, the pommel jewel of the equalizer sword, the gesen shaft and two heads of something bug-like, Athkleg or somesuch?). Shoudl I just go ahead and drop or sell some of tehse cause I will never find or use the components?

Can I leave this stuff in Cromwell's shop to save space in my backpack.

Please answer without spoiling too much.

Thanks.

J

Look If this is your first go through the game,I suggest you take it easy, explore all the areas and gather all the money and items you can,get a stronghold or find a shop you like and deposit all the items in containers there,I believe there are a few containers in Cromwells shop, and if you like the items keep them,if you dont, ditch them for cash but every item has its use, hope this helps a little bit

Any container will do, but if you store it in his shop he may consider it stealing. Cromwell's got this nifty barrel just outside his house though...

The Ankheg shells are not for a special item, but I think you can make something out of them (at least in BG1, where you could make Ankheg armour)
You don't need the mage to get the string
The human flesh is only useful when you're an evil character, or have an evil character in your group at the least (which you don't)

The jewel and the shaft you should keep (possibly in the aforementionend barrel)

No spoiling as far as I can see ;)

I dont think Cromwell is a rat and he wont steal any of your items placed in his shop, (I hope so at least,if he does I'l personally kill the bugger)

Cromwell will not steal from you. But if you store it in his house in a box, the game may think that you are stealing from cromwell and he may be a little pissed about this.

Mmmh... I restarted and forgot where I could find the Gesen shaft and string. Could anybody remind me where they are? Thanks.

So, it is not possible to assemble the s(icky) flesh armor and sell it if you are not evil?

Thanks for not spoiling :<)

norompanlasolas
well, if this wasnt a "no-spoilers" post id remind you where they are.

i will tell you that there not hidden much, just follow standard operating procedure and search everything in sight and you'll find them. eventually.

if your a total idiot and breeze through dungeons instead of searching then you wont. simple as that. one part is in a place you cant re-visit tho.

Jordi
you can assemble the human flesh armour if your good. i think. but you have to kill (spoiler so blanked) and good chars wont want to do that.

its crap anyway.

Amen on the flesh but the Gesen bow is really good. Nalia is carrying it in TOB for me. I'd advise keeping it in Cromwells barrel until you find the shaft. As for the Defender, does anybody think it's worth the WHOLE LOT of trouble it takes to get all the parts? (wink, wink; nudge, nudge)

I couldnt find anything in Cromwells shop I could store in without the guards being called

So in the adventurers mart there are 2 bookcases behind the shop keeper (Ribald is it?)
They are safe
