I have a party of six of my own characters, and I want it to stay that way !!

Valygar wants to join my party to open up the sphere. If I let him into my party on a temporary basis - can I get him to open it up, then ditch him and re-import my sixth character back into the party before I enter it?

If this can't be done, what would happen if I save the game just inside the sphere, ditch Valygar, and then re-import my sixth character again? Does this sort of chopping and changing characters upset the plotline/journals/gamestatus in any way?

Are there any other ways of solving this problem ??

hmmmm I've never tried it...but there's no reason why YOU can't. just save the game right before you bring him into the party, and see what happens.

Orrrr... you can just gut him, sell his stuff and drag his carcass to the Planar Sphere. The door will open if his body is in your inventory.

I've been playing with a basically good party - and "gutting" is a no - no. The thought did cross my mind, though. If you kill him, do you keep the corpse after you open the sphere so you can turn it in later for the bounty ?

I'd still rather find a "nice" solution ...

Nope, the body dissolves when you open the door.

Rather pointless to keep it anyway but you'll figure that one out in due time.

Before getting Valygar in, export a character, show him the door, bring in Valygar and re-import the booted character once you get in the planar sphere. But ideally, you'll want to reserve one postion for NPCs to accomplish certain quests.... just a suggestion.

Edit: Oh and there will be no negative repurcussions of doing this.
