I have two characters started in BG1tutu, one Cavalier, and one assassin. Both started with 2 hp. Technically that shouldn't be possible for them. Only a mage should be even remotely capable of such a low starting HP. Any ideas?

Technicaly, fighters start with D10 + CON bonus, mages start with D4 + CON bonus. Both D10 and D4 can roll a 1. I have always thought that the first level roll is rigged, but evidently not in BG2.

There was a problem in the earlier versions of BGT where you would start out with lvl2 XP (e.g mage with 8HP) but now it's fixed (my assassin has 2HP)

Started another character to test. He had 16con I think that gets +2 Hp right?
Well his max was 3 so whatever they did it set the max hp to a default of 1+bonuses. Something isn't right. I've already made a post on the BG1tutu website. But no doubt they have many issues to deal with. So who knows when they will see my post. If ever.

Do you have all patches for both games installed?

If so, characters are supposed to be starting with max HP on lvl1, so something is screwed... (maybe you are playing on Insane or so?)

Firestormalpha 10-01-2003 02:46 AM

Unless Insane is default then no. I play with core rules. The most up to date patches from bioware.com, the basics no mods. I can only assume it's something with the program.

Try and find the XPpatcher from teamBG - the tool that lets you change the start XP. I remember something about problems with starting a character at 0 XP in the BG2 engine, described by bardez as a 'wild surge' in that the result would be unpredictable. If that is the problem, chaging the start XP should help.

Andrewas how much experience do you have tinkering with BG1tutu? I have noticed at the beginning of any game I start my character seems to get an immediate -1 quest exp. no clue if this is related or not. Though I suspect that these errors are within BG1tutu itself and not likely to be fixed by an outside mod/patch unless such a mod/patch were specifically designed to fix the BG1tutu program.

Umm scratch a bunch of what I said up there. I didn't read your post carefully Andrewas. My appologies if I came across as rude also.
