I've got a few different books that are good old friends to go back with... currently rereading some of PN Elrod's Vampire Files books. None of that nicey-nice Twilight stuff... vampire gangsters in 1920's Chicago... great stuff! What kind of book is Shy the Platypus?

Good luck on the roomie. Is this his place that you're renting, or are you co-equal renters? That dynamic makes a big difference...

On the fun side, our local minor league baseball team is going to be featured on Man Vs Food. They've got a huge hamburger, and the host of the show is going to try to eat it. Details here: http://www.whitecaps-baseball.com/BLOGS/?p=847

Going to go to the game tonight with the kids... my 12-year-old daughter may actually be able to manage that monster burger, given a bit of prep time. That is, we're going unless those thunderstorms hit...

Brief bit on the burger:

Please tell me you did "not" eat that!

Go into your local McDonalds and ask them to make you a burger "Just like this one"..... or would that be too cruel ? :1ponder:

And I'd have a go eating one - would have to be BBQ sauce though :heee:

That's sickening.

How are we all? Hope everything is going well for you. I'm a little annoyed at the moment because I missed the final of Criminal Minds because I set the wrong time for my tape recorder, so if anybody saw it, could you please tell me what happened?

Other than that, things are good. Hoping to get my Xbox 360 back soon.

No, I didn't eat the burger.

However, after seeing it up close and personal-like, I'm pretty sure I could. It looks like it's the equivalent of about 4 or 5 big macs.

Last night at the game, at least half a dozen people ate the burger. Including one woman who (someone said) was the first woman to complete it.

She was a young attractive thing, about 5'7 and maybe 120 pounds... no massive eater-type person.

My 12-year-old daughter now wants to eat it. I think she can, provided we prepare her for it that day. She's wondering if she would be the first kid to complete it.

I think I can do it too...

It's not like this burger:

That's from Maillie's Sports Bar near Detroit. More pictures and details here:

http://www.supersizedmeals.com/food/...34lb_Hamburger

It is the Guinness World Record holder for largest commercially available burger. Takes 24 hours to prepare, so order it well before you're hungry.

Glad to see you back, Wellard. I hope the withdrawal wasn't overly painful...
