What is a "Moon Elf?"
 

Playing with a prepackaged team. One of my characters is described as a "Moon Elf." Any ideas what a moon elf is and are there any special abilities?

The Elf race has sub-races, "Moon" elves are likely to be one of the High or Wood sub-races. You would need to read the Second Edition Complete Handbook of Elves to see where Moon elves fit into the PHB categories.

Sun elves are the sort of high elves in the FR setting... Golden skin and light hair, exotic looking, and tend to be regal and snooty. Moon elves are fair skinned and tend to have dark hair and green eyes... A rare few have hair with a blueish tinge. Moon elves are described as being less isolationist and more likely to coexist with other races.

Moon/Sun/Wood/Wild/Dark/Flying/Star Elf. That's all the flavours iirc. Which translates to roughly: city/high/wood/barbarian/evil/mystical/planar elves.

EDIT: forgot aquatic elves.
