With my fairly low level party, he chased me out into the streets!
Fortunately I managed to take him down, with the help of the guards. And without any *really* serious damage done.

I made that mistake the first time there. Wow, secret room.
*time stop* ouch. That was the first time that I realized the
baddies chase you. Now, it's a little easier after a little
lich seasoning.

The Daystar is my favorite sword.

Getting rid of the Lich is actually easy, I usually get the Daystar pretty early on. First, haste a thief character, then have them run in there completely hidden, have them pick the lock real quick and grab the daystar, if the lich follows you out give the daystar to your fighter and have them use the Sunray effect right away, it'll tear through the Lich real quick.
