I recently discovered that I am a "fallen Inquisitor Paladin". Must have
killed someone I should not have. How do I return to grace, i.e. become "unfallen"???? Any help would be appreciated.

I thought that the Paladin stronghold quest could return you to normal status. Or am I wrong? I'm not really sure, anyone know?

When you do the Firkraag dungeon quest, your actual class isn't changed like when you go kill half a dozen townspeople. The accidentally killing the knights is a forgivable mistake, if you take care of business w/ the dragon. Slaughtering innocent bystanders however will forever destroy your class. Some things just aren't redeemable.

in any case, apart from shadow keeper there is no way to regain your status, quest related or otherwise.
