Okay, I've searched the thieves guild several times. I've paid the 15k and gotten into the other areas. I just cannot find Edwin. Help, please?

He's on the top floor. Walk in the front entrance then go up the stairs (in the right hand room I believe) then go up the second lot of stairs (in the room with all the test door locks and the flirtatious thief). The top floor is shaped like a T, you should find him standing in the large area in the NE of this floor.

You can also get there from the outside. If you look on the thieves guild building, up the right hand side wall, the very top side door will also lead you to him I think.

And also note that he is in Maevar's Guildhall; not Renal's.

Just in case,
If you have BGT (mod) installed he won't be there. This is a well known bug and can be corrected with a bit of CLUAing.

Hmmm... just searched Maevar's. I found the third floor in the shape of a T. It is totally unpopulated. I am not using any mods. Do I need to do something to trigger Edwin's appearance?

Do the quest of renal bloodscalp.

The quest contains several assignments. You get the first from Mae'Var himself. After you've done that and reported back to him he'll send you upstairs to meet Edwin (who will not be recruitable until the end of the quest)

Excellent... guess I was just being impatient... feeling a bit naked without a mage in the party (Nalia & Imoen both having been kidnapped...)
