I have heard lots of little snippets like that but this one really had me going "huh?" and wondering how much it matters in the scheme of things that I don't understand not having an elephant in the room.... ;)

The "Elephant in the room" is a reference to an obvious problem that everyone ignores...but this quote seems to remind me of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy for some reason...no idea why.

I think he was trying to tell the student that it's impossible to fully comprehend the lack of something you've never had...but then I only heard that snippet.

I once woke up after a drinking night with an elephant in my bed... but I won't go into details here...
