I am at the last door (I think)in the Illithid area and I cant open it.
I have a collared Illithid with me but the door still wont open. I just keep getting the same message about more than a mere mortal... etc etc...
Any clues..?

What happens is you need to control a mind flayer, not an Ulitharid (they look the same but have different names). For some reason it wont work with them. In the room before it (the one with the tables there are two ulitharid and one mindflayer and a few hulks). If you can't go back to a previous save and get a mind flayer use the CLUAConsole cheat to summon a Mindflayer (MINDFL01) near the door to open it. Another option is to become the slayer (godly strength) if you can handle the 2 rep loss.

Alternatively if you go to the room where the Githyanki teleport in and tell you you are on your own then a illithid turns up every five minutes of so. It saves your rep........

I wonder.. If my barbarian wear girdle of frost giants and then rages, his strength will be 25, I guess I'll be able to open those doors without any problems. Am I right?

BTW -- i collared a mindflayer back in that room with the cauldrons in it or whatever-- but i targeted the leader of the party to open the door and it did't work-- has to be the Person who collared the Flayer, even if it's not the leader of the party ( who attempts to open the door)

Turn into the Slayer. I've played 4 single games and 2 multi games and have never yet got that door open with a Mind Flayer. I could be wrong but the Slayer will definitely get it open for you. Change back quickly though or the Slayer change will begin to damage your character.
