What's up with Sicko pics on Facebook?

I know back in November, Facebook got infiltrated with porn and animal abuse pics. I luckily never saw them though. But tonight a friend of mine "commented" on some sicko pic of a dead bloody puppy, and it showed up on my end as a post. She totally was unaware of it (it does not show up on her profile page) and she did not legitimately comment on it at all.

Does anyone know how she can delete it? I've read a few links that say you may get it from Farmville, or perhaps clicking on ads on the right of the Facebook screen (it comes under the guise of people against animal abuse or some such). All I know is I don't want to see that stuff, AT ALL. My friend only kinda knew about it cause she was on Facebook at work, so maybe there is a vulnerability there.

I'd just like to be able to help her report it, but don't know how you do that (especially since she cannot even see it on her end). I'm just so pissed and disgusted for having seen the pic -there are some really sick people out there. Seriously, if you don't want an animal, just DON"T get one! Arggg! :(
