For goodness sake what is with this forums obsession with Aerie?

She's not *that* good. Ok she can cast both priest and mage spells, big deal. I'd rather have a specialist mage and priest of helm anyday. Ok she can be a half decent support for the above(when you actually get her to learn the spells you want), but she dies far too easily and uses up space that could be taken up by more usefull characters.

Apart from all of this her personality makes me gip. She's a vacous non-entity with a bland irritating mind. Maybe this is something you str8 guys like but i prefer the company of people who are interesting. Her one fascinating feature (wings) are gone and she constantly moans about it. At least Jaheira and Viconia have personality, they've been around they know the score. Naivety is sooooo unnatractive.

On a serious note, she is a versatile character, either as a back up or only magic support depending on who you want in your party, if she is dying too easily its now a time for a change in tactics, remeber ALL mages are going to have low hps. Plus its nice to know there is a lady in your party that you can protect( part of being a hero, look at Tarzan http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif), and I like her innocence in this jaded world.

Equipment I give Aerie...

Helm of Balduran: +5 Hp,
Girdle of Fortitude: Boost CON to 18 for 8 hours.
Sensate Amulet: +5 Hp

With these three items, you cannot complain about her 'lack' of Hp anymore... ... Hell, with this setup, she has more Hp than Imoen even... ...

Aerie rarely dies under my care, the people who usually croak in my party, if ever, are my melee fighters. My Mages and backrow casters/shooters usually end up saving the day.

Has to be said... Aerie is prety good, i always have her in my party and she is the first NPC i get outside irenicus' dungeon. I do agree the she dies to easily though which is why i give her that loun stone that gives regeneration and bracers AC3

I agree with don carlo. Aerie is good for the circus tent then she gets the boot. She is constantly dead. That equates to useless. And the whining.....blah sorry Aerie fans cant stand her

It all depends on how much you care for yourself(PC) as to your NPCs. I alwyas gave Aerie the best toys...</font>

Aerie's biggest problem I think is her slow leveling. You hold her hand,pack her with great eq to make her survive and by the end of the game she is a complete chump. Certainly early on her vast array of spells is useful but by the end of the game when mages should be slinging level 8 spells and clerics should not only have great spells but should be cracking heads open as well she is lame.

i find her useless in power and almost as annoying as nalia ...

Dundee: what effect does boosting con do for Aerie? Instant HP boost? I thought con only affected HP on level ups? If you are above level 10 is it useful at all?

the belt of constitution or whatever it is called does give you an instant boost in HP.

if you give her good item like ring of wizard and so ...
she will auto recover and so..
