I've played W8 so many times and it never saw it.

I was in Arnika (Lvl 8). Met a huge group of enemies : 5 Brigands, 9 Highwaymen and 3 Henchman. Ran into the entrance to the bank. At my position I could see Lorrac standing behind her counter. Then I turned to the enemies.
I really don't know what happened but suddenly Lorrac turned hostile and summoned bank guards. So I was surrounded by the enemies from one side and the bank guards on the other.
I had luck and won the combat because I had tons of bombs and powders, but I was forced to kill Lorrac to prevent new summonings. Fortunatly this has no effect to the game.

But I really don't know why Lorrac decided to attack my party. Any ideas ?

If one of your group missed and hit her instead, or maybe the set guard, or magic backfired onto them, or in your groping around for the dropped goodies, you hit her alarm button...

No, Scatter. I stood in the passage, not in the bank. I saw Lorrac but not the Bank Guard. The enemies were on the side with the fountain, so Lorrac was behind me. Do you think, a missed thrown dagger from the rogues hit her and turned her hostile ?

Could this be related to the mysterious "the Air Elemental becomes hostile" incident that I experienced in my completed expert game?

Nobody could explain that either, but essentially what you are experiencing seems similar.

Had you already looted the vault.
That alone won't make her hostile, but if you rode the elevator to the main floor 'security' got a look at you - so next time back they are looking for you... I once did this, and had to go back and re-loot the vault...

But if you hadn't done that, it could be some other glitch...
