Any vegans here?

Right. So I just started dating a vegan, and I pride myself in being a competant (at least) chef. I invited her to dinner, and I'd be cooking.

Problem is, I have no idea even where to start with food/recipes.

Any help? :D

Emmm... assuming you DO know that a vegan is 100% against animal products altogether, I would also have to guess you are joking, yes?

Hmm, Thai food may be your best bet.

Even though Indian and Thai use a lot of meat and fish, you can get around this just by removing it.

The saving grace of Thai food, is most of it uses Coconut milk instead of dairy milk, so you'll be fine. As with indian food as well.

I'd suggest a Thai Green Curry....easy to make, and lovely!

But I've no idea how anyone can be a vegan....two of my favourite things - rare steak and cups of tea with milk in it ;)

Edit -

Thai Green Curry - http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/3...-chicken-curry (just replace the chicken with something)

Spicy Coconut Soup - http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/3...ut-noodle-soup

I have been buying some microwave meals in the Asian section called "A taste of Thai" and some other noodle-based products there. Some of them are labeled "vegan", but not all.

Hit Google for "Vegan recipes". The first handful of sites I saw all boasted a variety of Vegan recipes, all claiming to be delicious just the same.

Be sure to post back with your menu! I'm curious, to say the least...
