Hi,

If you have installed the BG2 Demo on Windows NT or 9x, then you can help the Win2000 users (or at least one of them !)

Just answer this question : in your "baldur.ini" file, you'll see five lines starting with CD1:=,.., CD:=5. Can you tell me what is the path for "CD1:=" ?

If you want to know why this question, then read below.

Thanks

Tcherno

PS : this is the description of what's happening here on my Win2000 PC :

The problem is just after the character creation :
It complains that "CD1 is not in C:\xxx" (and I have to exit)
- at start, I thought it was quite unusual to ask for a cd in a C drive. It has to be a logical path

Now, I also have a small problem during the install process :
- a first "install shield" stops when it decompressed all the files. It says "105% done"(!?)
- the second "install shield" is started by the first one, it runs ok, and finishes ok
- this 105% window is still there. The only way to get rid of it is to click on cancel, with the option "exit but don't delete the installed files"

Now, when I look into "baldur.ini", I can see these lines :
CD1:=C:\Documents~1\\Local~1\Temp\bginstall\CD1 (same for CD2,..,CD5)
- but there's nothing in this "bginstall" dir, which was a temp dir, anyway
- therefore, that "first install" stopped just before updating "baldur.ini"
- so, I have to complete these logical paths to point on the data it requires
