I have deselected the option "Automatically keep a history of my conversations" in the options window, but it keeps saving conversations in My Documents\My Chat Logs

you are using messenger plus and it is logging

click the "plus" menu
go to "preferences"
on the left scroll to "logging"
submenu "chats"
and uncheck the checkbox "log instant messages by default"
