Yesterday, I ordered 128MG Ram chip for my computer from www.crucial.com for less than $18!?!? That price included tax and free shipping by Federal Express. I received the package in 26 hours! I've installed it and it's working fine.

I have an HP and was looking at their site, and the price was closer to $90. Anyone have any experience with Crucial? Is my computer going to self-destruct? :D

I remember paying over $100 for a 1MG RAM card! Of course, it was worth it because it took my computer from 2 to 3....lol.

Didn't something happen in Taiwan or somewhere over there with disgustingly cheap labour

Something happened over there that caused a huge drop in chip prices

I think that's right or along those lines anyway

Actually, when I paid the big money for the 1MG chip years ago, there had just been a huge fire that devastated some major warehouse/factory that caused the price to skyrocket, so I guess it's only fair I catch a break now...lol.

I thought $90 wasn't too bad a price, but wouldn't spend the cash. Thank goodness!

I disagree with you Ron. You're way off base with your assertation that the social economic impact of muslims upon our great nation will not... No, wait...wrong forum. That is an amazing price for your RAM. Thanks for sharing that link.

I am not sure why it happened, but it has been like that for quite sometime.

I think it has something to do with the fact that computer technology is progressing faster than someone running from a mad axewielding psycho.
But then I'm just stating the obvious *runs away before rocks are thrown in general direction*

I agree with Talthyr. Computer technology grows faster and faster every day. So the prices go down, down, down...

Amazing, isn't it?
The going rate for 128 Mb SDRAM is £11 in England at the moment. So that's about the same, taking exchange rates into account.
