I cant find the part of the rod. Where is it? I looked everywhere in that lower area.

It is off in the far left hand corner of beholder's lair. Once you find the second piece it is automatically put to getter.

Theres a passage eventually going to a broken bridge, you will have to answer riddles to get past it... first answer is "life" second is "time" and third is second answer (forgot what it says).
EDIT: heh, sorry, didn't quite know which rod part you meant.

Which part do you mean?
If you are in the Rift Dungeon:
The part of the rod will be given to you from the avatar after you kill the demon in the temple.

Once you've passed Ghoul Town, you will cross a bridge to the Lower Reaches of the Cult, the 2nd piece of the rift device is in the room at the far East side of the map. Just keep moving toward the East side once you've reached the lower corridor. Once you get the rod piece, it assembles automatically and you should put it into quick inventory ASAP. It can be used like a wand of magic missile.

I guess i was unclear, i passed the bridge, beat the beholder things, went in to the temple thing with the diseaed ones outside and found nothing in there. Now what?

Did you go in the temple and defeat the creature inside with heal spells. Because once you defeat the creature the Avatar shows up and you get the first part of the rod from him
