I got the metal for Sir Sarles (the real stuff) but none of my party can carry it because it's too heavy. Is there a magical item or a spell which can increase the weight carrying factor of one of my members?
Otherwise which NPC will be able to manage it?

Minsc should be able to carry it if you don't load him from the beginning. To increase weight capasity simply increase your strength, like with the girdle of hill giant strength...

Try the Strength spell, or a potion of strength (the ordinary red one, don't waste a good potion on this blob of metal).

to go a step further, if you don't want to do any of the aforementioned things, have one of your secondary fighters ditch his armor or something of that sort in a barrel, and then transport the ore to Sir Sarles, and come back and grab/re-equip his armor again.

then again, you may just want to go with the potion technique. less time consuming

But if you don't keep the ilithium you won't get mace of disruption +2

But the mace skullcrasher +3 is better. Anyway, I chose to give him the real stuff. I think he understands the fraud if you give him the fake thing.

But you can also do this:

Keep the real stuff for the Mace of Disruption +2.
Get the fake stuff from the ore merchant and show it to Sarles.
He'll notice that it's fake and he'll leave. But that's ok.
Now go to the temple that hired you to do this in the first place and
tell them what happened. You'll show the fake stuff to the cleric your
talking to and then a high priest joins the conversation.
He thinks the lump of fake ore is a fine work of art http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif and wants to keep it.

So, in the end you get the mace and a bunch of exp for helping the temple...
