I've made my way through the sewer and collected the four pieces of the puzzle (ring, blood, hand, and staff), and I've figured out the order, but I can't figure out how to put the stuff in the damn pipes or do whatever I'm supposed to do.

Can anyone help?

I think you just click on the pipes, in the correct order. A sword will appear in your inventory.
