Strong story lines and depth in characters are important ingredients if you want to be absorbed in to any adventure rollplay game. With the success of "The Lord Of The Rings" block buster movie, fantasy adventure is definately in the foreground.

Which roleplaying team and fantasy movie would you like to see team up?

For me it would definately be Bioware Corp and "The Lord Of The Rings" - bringing all Tolkien's characters and monsters to life!

To all those game designers - anything in the pipeline?

Actually, if I remember correctly, there are LOTR games being produced by two different companies.
Also, since it's two, the extra competition will mena they will compete to make better games to get more of the audience...
looks like us game players are in for some fun!

I woudn't get my hopes up about that LOTR game. Probably some fast made crap, in an attempt to make even more money.

I'll have to agree with Dreamer on this one.

Any game made to coincide with a popular movie doesn't have much chance.

Yeah, nice sig Dreamer128.
Am I right in saying that's Raistlin from the Dragonlance chronicles?
Read the whole series and played the AD&D quests. Good example of a set of books being converted in to a rollplay - great job.

The difference with LOTR is the detail work is already done and there are so many critics in the Tolkien areana anybody planning to undertake such a game would come under such pressure to make a game that truely reflected the nature of Tolkien's world.

Plus, the rights to the game would not be handed over lightly. Any gaming corp would have to jump through hoops demonstrating their capability.

With this in mind, I do agree any game won't be round the corner.

Cheers for the discussion guys.
