I have been led to believe that there is an alternative Druid Grove quest for an evil PC. Something about a halfling that tries to hire you in Trademeet to poison the Grove??? Has anyone done this version of the quest, and how did it all fall out? Was it worth it, XP-wise?

I've got a friend who plays an evil character though,

After getting the quest fro mthe mayor, I entered the inn to sleep. The halfling gave me the alternative and gave me a Shield vs Domination/Hold Person/something else (same type as the one the merchant woman gives you for sorting out the Dao)

Poisoning the river and killing the druids gave me the same XP as my other games when I did it normally. The mayor, however, was p***ed off with me and I did not get the ceremony leading to another quest. However having a second one of those shields made up for this. And I killed the mayor for being a git
(well, he was rude to me at the start - pompous low-level ****)
